Empty Nest? Not All Parents Are Sad About It
You've heard and read about helicopter parents, right? The kind of Mom or Dad who micromanages their children's lives so little Jr. never makes a mistake and experiences failure. The rest of us don't get much press. Today's New York Times has a great article about parents who feel "job well done - so what's the next chapter of my life?" Click here to read the article.

I loved the article and can relate to 90% of what you said....
So happy to run into another Empty Nester blog - ! Like the gypsynester. com you are traveling. I travel about 3-4 times a yr and hubby and I are in the process of selling the acreage and moving to warmer climate - Oregon. I want to be near the ocean and have 2 kids in CA. Looking forward to reading the article as well. Nice "meeting" you.
We spent many years raising kids, which is what we chose to do. Then they left home, which was as expected and which is what we raised them to do, to become independent adults.
When they left home, we did too, and crossed the oceans. We enjoy this new phase of life as empty-nesters as well.
