Yesterday I found out that my blog was recognized by ExpatsBlog.com as their silver award winner for Turkish expat blogs. This particular blogging competition was so fun because awards were based on nominations. It meant so much to see all of the lovely things my friends and readers wrote in support of my nomination.
I don't know why, but my blog doesn't seem to get that many reader comments, even though my readership has never been higher. Reading those contest comments was motivational!

Congratulations Karen - well deserved award. I share your frustration at the number of people who visit, read & enjoy your blog but never leave a comment. I have a similar problem except when I write about President Obama's re-election :-)
Sorry for my proofreader's eye, but you might want to tell expatsblog.com how to correctly spell the city in which you are currently living ;-)

Thank you all! Ricky, I did tell ExpatsBlog.com that and they did fix it. Sometimes though, Istanbul is called Istambul with an "m" rather than an "n." So I give them credit for an alternative interpretation. :-)
Congrats again Karen! It was a fun contest and good to see you on Saturday! I also am often disappointed by the lack of reader on comments on my blog as well. I mean I'd love to know if people actually like what I write or if it truly sucks. ;-)
