Revising my Goal

I need to revise my arrival date for Prague. I had originally planned to leave seven days from today and that is not going to happen because my house hasn't sold yet. It will though. I have faith.

The good side of that is that I will get to spend time with my children one last time before they go back to college. They arrive Friday.

Ooh. Well Prague isn't going anywhere - I hope your buyers are just around the corner.

Prague may not be going anywhere -- but you are! I had hoped to meet you before you moved to Berlin. When are you moving?

Hi Karen,
Like Michael said, Prague isn't going anywhere! I've had many experiences like that...where you want to get out there and get going on the next phase of Life, but things don't come together very fast! Sometimes, it seems there is a reason...and when things are right, then you get the green light to move forward! I'm keeping my fingers for you (a Czech saying--equivalent to our saying "I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!)

Good luck with the house selling! My mom also sold her house. I think when she realized I wasn't ever coming home to stay (I'm an only child). It always seems the longest and hardest just before the lights of the big sell come into view..if that helps.

As per my comments on why I'm not going back to America: there are so many little things about Europe that I just found irresistible. For one, I felt more like a part of a community, not so sperate, especially when going into rowdy family-filled bars where the old and young (70+) alike are sitting together over beers 'til one in the morning. There are no, or still hardly any drive-thrus where I was living in Europe. I've never been into that culture and I love wiling my time away at a cafe or restaurant ordering nothing more than an iced tea. This relaxed leisurely pace I found in Europe just seemed so much more healthy than Americans who always seem so hurried. Sure, Europeans hurry when they need to, but they work to live relaxed and pleasant lives. Although, I do admit, I may have fallen pray to some of the anti-American sentiment in Europe. Don't worry, it's not directed at us, just the government and lifestyle. Europe does strive to make itself unique and superior I think, I guess it's a bit of a competition on their part. Anyway, to sum up: the lifestyle, the mix of so many historical vibrant cultures so near at hand, the beauty of walking on centuries old terrain, the food (here I'm referring to Mediteranean) and the whole aura of mystery and discovering new things everyday.

I had to also change my date of departure for Spain, the EFL school allowed me two changed to the starting date, so don't worry, it will all come together.
