That's terrific! We found that most people said "diky mocs" for thank you; like "thanks a lot", less formal. Also, they seem to always say "please" with "excuse me", "prominte prosim". Before I went to the Czech Republic, my mom, who spoke fluent Czech (Couldn't speak English well until she started school), said just remember this: "Prominte prosim, ja nerozumim nic!"
(excuse me please, i don't understand anything). How funny, but I guess it helped! Have fun with it, it's a beautiful, but slightly difficult language!
